Enjoy Glen Lake Winterfest in February

The Glen Arbor area knows how to celebrate a cold winter... with ice fishing, hot chili and cold beer, during the Annual Glen Lake Winterfest in mid-February.

All proceeds of the event go to the Glen Lake Chamber of Commerce's Glen Lake Schools Scholarship Fund.

Perch Fishing Contest

The annual Perch Fishing Contest on Big and Little Glen lakes begins at 7am, with participants bringing in their biggest catches at 1pm to the Sportsman Shop. Winners will be announced and prizes awarded. Entry fee is $20 and the contest is open to all ages.

Chili Cookoff

The Chili Cookoff beings at noon on the deck of Boonedocks- corner of M22 and Ray Street. First and second place awards are presented in both traditional and non-traditional chili categories. Local businesses and individuals compete in the cookoff with an entry fee of $25 per chili. Admission to the cookoff is $10/person, which includes unlimited chili samples.

Trailside Open House

Also that day, a trailside open house will be held from 11am-3pm at the DH Day Log Cabin on the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail. Coffee, hot chocolate and cookies will be available. Take time to experience the unique, pristine beauty of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.
